This activity includes 18 English to Spanish translations of common greetings, leave takings and titles. Sample words and phrases are: Hi/hello, good morning/afternoon/night, see you later, How are you, What's your name, Mr., Mrs., Miss, etc. Students will begin writing basic Spanish words with a focus on accent marks, punctuation and spelling. Accent marks and punctuation are in red font to make them stand out and easy to see when going over the assignment with students. The answer key is included.

Students first cut out, assemble and read the booklet containing text and illustrations of class objects. Necesito is repeated 8 times so students learn the word quickly and will soon be expressing their classroom needs in Spanish! They then create their own version using the text only template. Students are instructed to:
1. Write the capital next to each country clue.
2. Complete the crossword with the capital of each Spanish speaking country.

Print the color word sign for your classroom and then have students make their own signs by coloring the bubble letter words on the second page. There are 10 different French color words.

Students assemble a 4 x 4 French/English vocabulary puzzle with 25 common reflexive infinitives. Sample verbs are:
s'amuser, s'endormir, se baigner, se coucher, se lever, se peigner, se raser, se fatiguer, and se réveiller
Several words are repeated which makes the puzzle more challenging. Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. There is a list of all words alongside the puzzle in French and English. This can be used as a vocabulary bookmark and reference. This is fun, hands on way to learn and review French reflexive verbs!
